Laurie Roddy is a native of Houston and has been writing for more than 25 years on everything from computers to the outdoors. She now freelance, writes for several Houston-area magazines and recently completed the book, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Houston. She has hiked the Rocky Mountains, Mt. Olympia, Mt. Rainier, the Davis Mountains, Big Bend National Park, the Smokey Mountains, St. Johns in the U.S. Virgin Islands and all around the Houston area.
