Memorial Park, known as the central park of Houston, is a 1466-acre park with mixed trails of hard packed dirt, sand, trees and tree roots. Even with the loss of trees from the drought, it's still green and wooded.

Join for an-hour-and-a-half quick-paced hike through some of the lesser-known — and a little more adventuresome — trails the park has to offer.

Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots and remember to bring water as there are no water fountains along the trails. As long as it is cool out, this is a dog friendly event. Dogs must be on a leash.
