For more than 26 years, the Bush family has hosted A Celebration of Reading, a charity event created to shine the light on former First Lady Barbara Bush’s cause of literacy. Proceeds from the event will advance the critical missions of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy of ensuring more underserved children and adults have access to high-quality literacy programs and resources for success. Neil and Maria Bush, co-founders of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, will be present at the event.
In addition, through their partnership with KPRC 2, A Celebration of Reading will be produced and broadcast on the station at a later date for enjoyment by the public.
