The program, which will have a reflective mood, includes J.S. Bach's Aus der Tiefen rufe ich, Herr, zu dir, BWV 131, Johann Michael Bach's Das Blut Jesu Christi and liturgical music by Rick Erickson and Michael Praetorius.
The Bach Choir and Mercury, on period instruments, will perform, as well as guest baritone soloist Elliott Carlton Hines, a Houston native who was educated at The Juilliard School and Oberlin Conservatory. He last sang with the Bach Society as Jesus in the newly reconstructed St. Marcus Passion (1747 version) in the spring of 2013.
The organ prelude will be presented by Michael Ging, a doctoral organ student at the University of Houston. A pre-concert lecture will be given by popular speaker Carrie Allen Tipton at 5:15 p.m. in the parish hall.
