Finding Home: Sober & Out is a conversation about the courage it takes to embrace one’s authentic self when faced with adversity, like housing insecurity, alcohol addiction, and being LGBTQ+ in the conservative South.

The event will feature a discussion with Tate Barkley, Avenue’s Board President and author of "Sunday Dinners, Moonshine, & Men," plus savory hors d’oeuvres and refreshing alcohol-free beverages. Riaz Pooran (Prime Lending), LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance National Secretary, will serve as the discussion moderator.

Barkley is an LGBTQ+ advocate and recovering alcoholic. His personal stories inspire audiences with messages of courage, and acceptance.
