With nearly 500 original works from more than 250 local artists, Art on the Avenue, taking place on November 11, is Houston's ultimate “buy local” fundraiser. Now in its 21st year, the event has grown to become the city’s largest silent charity art auction, benefiting the community revitalization efforts of non-profit community development organization Avenue, which in the aftermath of Harvey, have become more important than ever. Not only does each art purchase support Avenue’s mission to build affordable homes and strengthen communities – it also gives back to Houston’s thriving arts community and the artists who make the event possible.

The Art on the Avenue Preview Party on November 9 includes art-inspired bites, curated by noted foodie Jailyn Marcel, from local culinary artisans including Javani King of JKCO, Fusion Taco, Poptails, Jenni’s Noodle House, Fat Cat Creamery and FM Kitchen & Bar. Preview Party guests will also get a sneak peek at the upcoming BCK: Kitchen & Cocktail Adventures, the latest concept from the team behind Bosscat Kitchen & Libations set to open in the Heights in 2018.
