Saul Bass was one of the great graphic designers of the mid-20th century and the undisputed master of the film titles, thanks to collaborations with such directors as Alfred Hitchcock and Otto Preminger. Series curator Peter Lucas will speak about his film work and present a selection of his classic film title sequences and rarely-screened short films, including Why Man Creates (1968), Notes On The Popular Arts (1978) and The Solar Film (1980).
