eventdetail
Aurora Picture Show

While rarely seen today, the inventive and dynamic abstract animations of German-born painter and filmmaker Oskar Fischinger (1900-1967) have had a tremendous effect on visual culture and inspired experimental artists such as Harry Smith and John Cage, as well as popular animations such as Disney's Fantasia, and modern motion graphics. This program presents 16mm film prints of rarely seen films made between 1931 and 1947.
