Aurora Picture Show 16mm Filmmaking Workshop

eventdetail
Aurora Picture Show

In this workshop students will learn to manipulate the surface of the film using a variety of direct filmmaking techniques: Painting, scratching and masking in order to create an experimental film on 16mm. Students will walk away with hands-on experience of direct filmmaking, a finished film work, the knowledge to continue to work in this practice at home and a list of venues to pursue for exhibition. A screening at 6:30 p.m. follows the workshop.

All materials are provided.

The workshop is led by Steve Cossman from Mono No Aware of New York, an international exhibition of contemporary artists and filmmakers open to any person or group of persons making work that incorporates Super 8mm, 16mm, 35mm or altered light projections as part of a live performance or installation.
