Asia Society Texas Center kicks off Halloween weekend with an outdoor film screening of the vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows. Starring, written by, and directed by New Zealand phenoms Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnorak, Jojo Rabbit) and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), this darkly hilarious mockumentary follows the nightly adventures of three out-of-date vampires in modern Wellington.
The physically distanced screening provides movie goers with their own 8-foot circular seating area on the lawn of the Asia Society building; each “pod” can seat up to four people. Guests can bring their own picnic to enjoy during the film or opt for a vampire-themed snack box available for purchase. Seating is limited, and all tickets must be purchased in advance.
