Houston artist Vachu Chilakamarri received a biology degree in India and studied art at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Vachu creates compelling images that draw inspiration from her study in botany and poetry.

She has exhibited her work at the Dallas Contemporary Art Museum and the Andrews Museum in North Carolina. She was also a finalist for the Hunting Art Prize in 2009.
