New York-based jewelry designer Eve France will return to her hometown of Houston to introduce Artistry Across Borders, a non-profit initiative she has founded to foster the artistic talents of South African women through the marriage of traditional African beadwork with contemporary jewelry design.
The jewelry, designed and produced as a collaborative effort to boost the economic opportunities for South African artisans, will be exhibited at two venues in Houston: a private trunk show at the home of art-collector and philanthropist Marilyn Oshman and a public opening at High Gloss (owned by Kim and Lisa Glosserman) in Uptown Park, with a percentage of the sales benefiting female artisans in South Africa.
