Artist Talk: Trevor Paglen

eventdetail

Join CAMH at the Glassell School of Art's Freed Auditorium for a lecture by artist, author and experimental geographer Trevor Paglen. Paglen will discuss his book, I Could Tell You But Then You Would Have To Be Destroyed By Me - Emblems from the Pentagon's Black World, in which he assembled more than 40 patch insignia from secret U.S. military programs.

Paglen was a guest on The Colbert Report to discuss the book in 2008. The patches will be on view in the upcoming CAMH exhibition Graphic Design-Now in Production, opening July 19. Paglen will also talk about more recent projects, including The Last Pictures (2012), in which he launched 100 archived images on the communications satellite EchoStar XVI that serve as a time capsule for whoever encounters them millennia from now.
