Deborah Stratman is a Chicago-based artist and filmmaker interested in landscapes and systems. Her films, rather than telling stories, pose a series of problems, and their ambiguous nature allows for a complicated reading of the questions being asked. Stratman is an Artist in Residence at the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts this Spring and is the Guest Curator of the "Tex Hex: Pop Up Cinema" event to held along the Buffalo Bayou May 21 in conjunction with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
