The Society for Photographic Education South Central Member and Student exhibition features the work of 28 photographic educators and students from Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The exhibition will be divided between College of the Mainland's Art Gallery and Galveston College's Art Gallery.

The exhibition takes place during the regional conference, “Refining Humanity: Photography and Empathy.” The conference explores the many and varied ways in which photographers and lens-based artists illuminate the human experience and addresses issues photographers, educators and students experience in the classroom as well as in their personal work when they challenge themselves to use lens-based media to illuminate the greater human experience.
