Art opening recption: BOX 13 ArtSpace

By Chris Sauter

BOX 13 ArtSpace is pleased to present four upcoming exhibitions. In the downstairs front BOX, Emily Fleisher explores the connection between the imprint of bird fatalities on mundane suburban windows and the grandiose depictions of religious imagery found in the window of gothic cathedrals in Dove-otionals. Tom Orr and Arthur Peña explore their sensitivity to material, interest in light as a phenomenon and how perception can break down leading to mysterious encounters in the downstairs back BOX. Chris Sauter's work in the upstairs BOX tackles the dialectic between science and religion in God of the Gaps while in the window Box, Diana-Sofia Estrada inverts the public spectacle of the window display and the voyeurism of a peephole.
