FotoFest Discoveries, presented in collaboration with Arts Brookfield, features 15 international contemporary artists in an exhibition that spans four Downtown Houston office buildings: One Allen Center (500 Dallas St.); Two Allen Center (1200 Smith St.); Three Allen Center (333 Clay St.); and 1600 Smith (1600 Smith St.).
The four buildings are owned and operated by Brookfield Office Properties, the largest owner of commercial real estate in downtown Houston.
The exhibition focuses on a group of young and dynamic contemporary photographers. The featured artists are: Miguel Aragón (Mexico/U.S.); Nils Olav Bøe (Norway); Fernando Di Sisto (Argentina); Kim Tae Dong (Korea); FLORA (France); Patrick Gries (Belgium/ France); He Xiao Hua (China); Vlad Krasnoshchok – The SHILO Group (Ukraine); Sergiy Lebedynskyy – The SHILO Group (Ukraine/Germany); Vadym Trykoz – The SHILO Group (Ukraine/Austria); Claudia Presentado (Uruguay/Argentina); Marcela Rico (Mexico); Ian Teh (China/U.K.); Suzanne Wellm (Denmark); and Eldar Zeytullaev (Russia).
Receptions for the exhibition are held on July 17, noon-1 p.m., at Two Allen Center and July 22, noon-1 p.m., at 1600 Smith St.
In addition, five "really short tours," promising to be no more than 10 minutes each, are scheduled on July 18 (One Allen Center), Aug. 1 (Two Allen Center), Aug. 15 (Three Allen Center) and Aug. 29 and Sept. 5 (1600 Smith).
FotoFest Discoveries is on view from July 15 through Sept. 27.
