Art opening reception: Ted Flicker and Regina Foster Exhibition

eventdetail

Regina Foster combines the symbols she has come to recognize since childhood with the scholarly formulas she has come to ponder as an adult. These symbols of Buddhas, roses and birds on barbed wire become the colorful face on the less identifiable backdrop of formulaic questioning on her canvases.

In what he himself calls the "third act" of his life, having moved on from film and literature, Ted Flicker is fascinated with the complex narrative of what it means to be an artist, a sculptor and a transcendental artist. For Flicker, it's important that he creates something that has the audience question something about their beliefs, even if for a nano-second.

On view through May 28.
