Art opening reception: Perspectives 181: Human Nature

eventdetail
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston

Perspectives 181: Human Nature, the eighth youth art exhibition organized by the CAMH's Teen Council, will explore conceptions of humanity: What it is to be human, to be inhuman. The exhibition asks artists to consider the questions: Is there a universal human experience? In order to explore human nature, do we examine our base animal instincts? Or is what makes us human of a higher order?

Artists are encouraged to freely interpret the exhibition's title and themes through their work in any media including but not limited to: Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, sound and installation.

Work will be selected for the show by guest juror Rachel Cook, assistant curator at DiverseWorks, and will be displayed in the CAMH's Zilkha Gallery. On view through June 9.
