Art opening reception: MAXIM WAKULTSCHIK: FaceTime

Anya Tish Gallery

Neo-pop painter Maxim Wakultschik returns to Anya Tish Gallery for his fourth solo exhibition. The current works selected for FaceTime are in his signature style, a mixture of a conceptually sophisticated approach with broadly accessible pop portrait imagery and bright colors. Wakultschik believes that "nothing is as interesting as faces," and his images are mostly in the traditional form of the portrait. Many of the faces are recognizable as part of our contemporary media environment and legendary pop-artist such as Chuck Close, Frida Kahlo, Robert Rauschenberg and Yayoi Kusama.

On view through April 20.
