Art opening reception: Life & Death . . . Let's Talk About It

eventdetail

In conjunction with National Children's Grief Awareness Day, Bo's Place will present an educational photography exhibit created in partnership with Karen Sachar, a local Houston photographer whose distinguished work has taken her around the world.

The purpose of Life & Death . . . Let's talk about it is to initiate a dialogue about a subject often avoided. Sachar has shared her artistic vision to create inspiring photographic images that capture the resilient spirit of families who have been impacted by the death of a parent, spouse, child or sibling and who have come to Bo's Place for grief support.

National Children's Grief Awareness Day is Nov. 21. In recognition of this national initiative, Mayor Annise Parker is proclaiming this day as Houston's own Grief Awareness Day.

The exhibit will start at Williams Tower with an opening reception on Nov. 12, 6-8 p.m. It will remain on view through Nov. 27. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Life & Death . . . Let's talk about it will then travel to venues throughout the Greater Houston area.
