PEVETO hosts Galina Kurlat for a solo exhibition of glass plate photographs and prints titled Inherent Traits, a project in which Kurlat committed to photographing herself over the course of a year.

Kurlat's photographs are made using the wet-plate collodion process. The process involves coating a glass plate with collodion then sensitizing it with a coating of silver nitrate while the wet plate is exposed. Within a few minutes of exposure, the plate must be developed, fixed and dried in order to create the positive image from the plate or ambrotype.
