El Rincon Social hosts "Exile," an exhibition that explores the boundaries between individual expression and the disintegration of human traces on the economic, social and political field. The artists featured in this exhibition use artifacts as a means to evoke the obscurity of this disintegration to communicate and testify to a suppressed history. "Exile" presents works that recontextualize exiled historical narratives into present personal narratives.
Incorporating found materials, optic distortions, photography, video and paintings, the artists emphasize the weight of personal accounts to disrupt the structures of image making.
Participating artists include Blanka Amezkua, Darwin Arevalo, Caroline Chandler, Oscar Rene Cornejo, Sandra Cornejo, Abigail Deville, Eric Mack, Harold Mendez, Robert Nava, Sondra Perry, Ronny Quevedo, David Salinas and Rodrigo Valenzuela.
