Scott Finch and Matthew Gantt, two artists inspired by the transcendent power of myth, share the Jung Center Gallery space. In Cosmograms and Escape Plans, Louisiana artist Scott Finch employs a painterly aesthetic that overlaps elements to describe the organizing principles lurking behind the untidy moments of the distracted mind. In SPECTRUM: An Archetypal Journey of the Psyche, Houstonian Matthew Gantt renders mythopoetic images from the collective unconscious using randomly applied ink blotting and line work, a technique he terms "Constellationism."
