Houston Arts Alliance
Constructing the Praxis of Interactivity features monoprint sculptures, paintings and installation work. The works touch upon the connection of the visual center and how the brain responds to "seeing" in two dimensions vs. three dimensions. The use of thermochromics (paints that change color as the temperature changes), as well as works created in 3-D (red and blue) with 3-D glasses, will beckon viewers to interact with the installation.
Based in Houston, Felipe Lopez is a self-taught visual artist mentored by Diana Muniz. Lopez's work began with mixed media, drawings and paintings shown at Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts and Prairie View A&M University. Since then, he's branched off into installation video work projected onto his paintings and sculpture working in unison with neurological experiments.
On view through Sept. 27.
