Art opening reception: "Call it street art, call it fine art, call it what you know"

eventdetail
Station Museum of Contemporary Art

"Call it street art, call it fine art, call it what you know" is a group exhibition of graffiti and mural artists recognized for their work in public spaces across the city of Houston. These artists work with a tremendous sense of purpose, urgency and fearlessness that, while not adhering to the traditions of fine art, enable them to communicate in a manner that is widely accessible.

The idea of this exhibition was to give these artists an opportunity to create works in a space where they can more freely explore their art, a space where they can pull from their experiences to develop and push their work further.

The opening reception will feature performances by Say Girl Say, P.S.A, Shaun Kelly and Damaj Ritual.

On view through Aug. 24.
