Art League Houston will present the 2020 Block Marty: A Summer Montrose Art Party benefiting the ALH Healing Arts program. To ensure the health and well-being of our community, they have reimagined the event to be live streamed with a kick-off party on Saturday, July 11, followed by the Block Marty on Saturday, July 25.

The event features an online silent auction featuring local emerging and established artists along with an online exhibition by artists participating in the Healing Art program. The exhibition and auction will be on view on-site at ALH through July 25 by appointment only

The Healing Art program addresses an important need in the healthcare community and serves as a vital resource for its constituents. Art is a powerful way to express and manage the many emotions chronic illness and disability can provoke. The program consists of four 3-hour classes, held each Friday from September through May. Through these experiences, participants obtain practical skills necessary to develop as artists, while learning more about art, themselves, and each other in a supportive and healing environment. Despite the difficult circumstances surrounding the current COVID-19 pandemic, ALH remains committed to continuing this important program at no cost to participants.
