Paraná is a local self-taught mixed media artist that is inspired by his home state Bahia, Brazil. His work incorporates everyday scenes, memories and experiences while growing up in the northern eastern region of Brazil, which is known for its rich colors, flavorful foods and beautiful landscapes. Paraná works primarily in oil paintings, mixed media, sculptures and mosaics. In 2007, when Paraná arrived to Houston, he immediately became involved in the local arts community.
