Ars Lyrica Houston presents Haunted Spirits

eventdetail

For Halloween, Ars Lyrica Houston has cooked up a devilish stew of mad scenes and eerie instrumental music from Henry Purcell through C. P. E. Bach. Audience members are encouraged to come in costume to experience fully the scary sounds of Rebel’s Les Élemens, which begins in “Chaos,” or the hysteria of Dejanaria’s meltdown at the end of Handel’s Hercules. Mezzo-soprano Nikola Printz makes her Ars Lyrica debut, and violin virtuoso Manami Mizumoto braves Tartini’s fearsome “Devil’s Trill” Sonata.
