Archaeology Now will celebrate the start of a new—and better—year with a generous pour of history and a virtual cocktail party. It will include a virtual tour of the Grateful Dane, Houston’s only legal rum distillery.  Then Dr. Frederick Smith - archaeologist and rum historian - will be the guide and mixologist on an excursion through the history of rum, while he makes a rum punch with viewers using a recipe from the 1600s.

Guests can choose to receive a box of curated ingredients, complete with a playlist of music and a recipe so they can follow along, make theirr own rum punch at home, and transform their kitchen into a pirate lair.

Email archaeologyhouston@gmail.com or phone 713-364-6344 to register for the event. Registration deadline to receive boxes is January 11.
