The Fifth Annual Arab American Heritage Festival will feature the following events:
- "Cultural Treasures from the Cave Shelters of Dhofar: Photographs of the Painted Rock Art" (April 12) - The ACC will exhibit photographs on loan from the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center in Washington D.C. of prehistoric and pre-Islamic cave art taken from deep within areas once used as temporary shelters during the region’s annual monsoon season.
- International Ladies Night (April 20) - attendees will meet women from across the Arab peninsula and beyond, and enjoy a variety of home-prepared national dishes that will take them on a culinary journey from the Levant to Egypt, the Gulf to Morocco.
- Hassan El Fad - Comedy Show “Who is Kabour?” (April 28) - Morocco’s leading comedian comes to Houston for one night only. The performance will be in Arabic and French.
- Arab American non-fiction and poetry reading (April 29) - distinguished Arab American writers Dr. Hayan Charara, Dr. Fady Joudah will read excerpts from a selection of their works followed by a conversation with Dr. Hosam Abul Ela, Associate Professor at UH English department.
