Nepal lies halfway around the world from Appalachia. Yet as two American bluegrass musicians discovered, extraordinary connections exist between Appalachian music and Himalayan folk music. Mandolin player Tara Linhardt and fiddler Danny Knicely join forces with sarangi player Manoj Mahat and percussionist Raj Kapoor Ranapaheli for a concert that fuses music of two worlds.
Preceding the concert will be a screening of the documentary The Mountain Music Project, chronicling the Americans' journey of musical discovery to Nepal.
