MoonStrike celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with new music by Emmy-winning Chickasaw composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, Guggenheim Fellow Jake Heggie, and MoonArk composer Erberk Eryilmaz.

The program features the world premiere of Tate’s MoonStrike (20x2020 No. 18), a new commission inspired by Native American moon legends. Commander John Herrington, Chickasaw astronaut and the first member of a Native American tribe to fly in space, joins as narrator and honored guest.
