Aperio, Music of the Americas, in collaboration with Texas Gallery, presents "Heroic Measures – Dynamic Duos for Cello and Piano," featuring music by Samuel Barber, Lukas Foss, Marlos Nobre and Astor Piazzolla. This program spotlights four bold works for cello and piano from the United States, Brazil and Argentina, drawn from various classical and nationalist traditions.

Lukas Foss' stirring and exuberant Capriccio contrasts the brooding and sweeping Cello Sonata by Samuel Barber. A set of works by Brazilian composer Marlos Nobre evokes the spirit of meditation, struggle and reverence, while Astor Piazzolla's impressive Le Grand Tango finishes the program with electric energy and humor.

Performers include cellist Daniel Saenz and pianist Michael Zuraw.
