Aperio celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special event featuring internationally acclaimed soprano Ana Maria Martinez.  This program revels in sounds by composers from Argentina, Cuba, Brazil, and Spain featuring a mix of dances and songs characteristic of the New World.

Grammy Award winner Martinez is considered to be one of the foremost sopranos of the time, with an international career that spans the world’s most important opera houses and concert halls. With a repertoire that encompasses opera’s most intriguing and diverse leading ladies, she engages her audiences time and time again with signature roles, spellbinding debuts, and a myriad of captivating recordings.

Aperio’s program features Martinez in the celebrated Bachianas Brasileras No. 5 by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, and in vocal selections by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona and Spanish composer Xavier Montsalvatge.  Framing these delightful vocalises are popular styled works by the revered Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla and Cuban expatriate Paquito D’Rivera.
