Anya Tish Gallery will host the return of the highly acclaimed Texas-based artist, Vincent Falsetta, for his second solo exhibition with the gallery. In "Dynamic Duality," the artist continues his investigation of abstract gesture, process, and expression through layers of textured striations of color and underlying movement.
For the first time in Houston, in addition to the artist’s iconic oil paintings, the exhibition will feature carefully calculated, multi-hued text drawings, which give the viewer a glimpse into the artist’s stream of thought and his day-to-day tasks and to-do lists. Resembling a diary, the handwritten pen and ink text, referencing comic book speech bubbles, is a record of the artist’s daily activities, from the mundane to the exceptional. The meticulous watercolor rendering around the text provides an atmospheric context, allowing the speech bubbles to seemingly float on the surface.
The exhibit will be on display until May 7.
