Charlotte Smith: Paint Rhetoric marks the acclaimed Texas artist's fourth solo exhibition with the gallery. Smith's work is a celebration and exploration of material. The meticulous, dynamic paintings are process-based and diligently obsessive. Throughout her career, Smith has consistently explored the limits of her materials. Flatly layered drops became long, descending strands that stretch out from the canvas, creating a three-dimensional object while investigating the confines between painting and sculpture.
