The centerpiece of this concert is interdisciplinary collaborations between outstanding local and national artists. This year's commissions include a new work by New York-based, award–winning composer Gity Razaz, an alumnus of the American Festival for the Arts' Summer Music Conservatory, working in collaboration with poets from Inprint's Senior Memoir Workshop.

The second commission is written by AFA faculty composer and educator Aaron Alon working with independent scholar and curator Tacey Rosolowski. The new work for speaker and chamber, Soul Flow, will be performed by Rosolowski and area musicians.

The theme of the concert, "Desiring Her Soul to be Beautiful," is a quote from Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, which will be featured on the program along with works by Janacek, Hildegarde and Piazzola.
