Slam Poets @ Alley Theatre will hold its Spring Slam Competition. Local students will compete for prizes and a chance to advance to the Space City Poetry Slam Semi-Finals presented by Writers in the Schools (WITS).
Finalists for the Alley Theatre Spring Slam 2016 will be chosen from Alley Partner Schools - Carnegie Vanguard High School, George Bush High School, J.H. Reagan High School, The Academy of Choice, High School for Performing and Visual Arts, Cornerstone Academy and Waltrip High School.
Additionally, Seth Walker will be the special guest host and feature poet. Seth is currently ranked as one of the top four slam poets in the world and is the Individual World Poetry Slam Champion of Denver, Colorado’s world famous Cafe NUBA.
Participating in Slam Poets @ Alley Theatre creates poised, proud, quick-thinking and creative young adults. Students draw from their personal wealth of knowledge and experience to write and share their unique stories and emotions through performance in a welcoming community atmosphere.
