Literacy Now, a local non-profit organization dedicated to transforming communities by empowering children and families through literacy, leadership, and life skills, will host its 8th Annual Literacy Now Guild Luncheon, Bee Inspired.
The mission of the Literacy Now Guild is to assist with program activities and events, help to raise program funds, and spread awareness of the organization. The organization’s main goal is to empower students to read on grade level by the end of third grade, thereby increasing the likelihood they will remain on track to graduate from high school and be ready to pursue their postsecondary goals.
For over 15 years, Literacy Now has provided reading readiness and reading intervention programs, parent engagement, and trained volunteer mentors for its Lunch Bunch program - elements contributing to children's long-term success. Throughout its history, the organization has served more than 20,000 children and their parents through critical literacy, leadership, and life skills.
