The 4th Annual Ready Houston Preparedness Kit Chef’s Challenge will feature five of Houston's top culinary talents who will compete on-site to create the best dish from non-perishable food items typically found in a disaster preparedness kit.
MIX 96.5 morning show hosts Dave and D.K. will emcee the event. Media judges will select and award one winner based on taste, creativity and presentation. In addition to the cooking competition, food items from vendors will be available for purchase on-site. Guests are also allowed to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages to the park.
There will be several giveaways including restaurant gift certificates, first aid kits and other preparedness items. Information on disaster preparedness will be available, and families can tour emergency response equipment and talk to fire and EMS staff.
