47 Strings has partnered with the SEARCH House of Tiny Treasures and the Star of Hope Women and Children's Shelter to create two musical residencies for children. Most of the homeless children are 3 to 8 years old and have never seen a harp or heard classical music. Throughout the next year, 12 "Learning Through Music" concerts will be performed for the two organizations.
Each concert will introduce the children to a new instrument, such as the tuba, trumpet and flute. The program aims to positively influence the community by providing an outlet for expression and creativity, as well as an impacting involvement through the arts.
All proceeds from this benefit concert go directly toward funding the residency concerts at SEARCH and Star of Hope this year. Since 47 Strings launched last year, more than 30 concerts have brought classical music to more than 1,700 children.
