41st Annual Houston Symphony Ima Hogg Competition

The Houston Symphony Ima Hogg Competition is one of the foremost multi-instrument competitions in the world. Named to honor the memory of Miss Ima Hogg, a co-founder of the Houston Symphony, this prestigious Competition is designed to identify outstanding young instrumentalists and support their pursuit of careers in music-making.

Ten outstanding musicians will be selected to perform in the Semi-finals. Four finalists will advance to perform with the Houston Symphony to determine the winner of First Prize and a $25,000 award. This national competition is open to young musicians, ages 16-26 who play standard orchestral instruments and piano.

Semi-finals (June 2):

10 Semi-finalists will perform two concertos for the panel of judges. This portion of the competition is free and open to the public. The four finalists will be announced directly following the performances.

Finals Concert (June 4):

Four finalists will perform a concerto with the Houston Symphony. This concert will be broadcast live on Houston Public Media New 88.7.
