The 34th Annual Caesar Salad Competition is certain to be a “toss up” for awards given to chefs who present their versions of one of the world’s most popular salads. Acknowledged as the longest- running culinary event in Houston, it is always a boisterous evening featuring 20 of the area’s top chefs and great twists on a classic dish, wine and beers. The event, hosted by Food & Beverage Managers Association of Houston, also will feature a silent auction.
The Caesar Salad Competition was originally created by Chef Randy Fournier and Master Sommelier Guy Stout and formalized after friendly bets as to whose salad was the best. Over 34 years, the event has grown to include awards in four categories: Best Classic, Best Presentation, Most Creative and the coveted People’s Choice.
The 2018 restaurant participants will include 1600 Bar + Grille at Hilton Americas-Houston, Bazille – Nordstrom Houston Galleria, El Meson, Eric’s Restaurant at Hilton University of Houston, Hilton Galveston Island Resort, Karbach Restaurant & Patio, Le Bistro at Culinary Institute LeNôtre, Quattro at Four Seasons Hotel Houston, San Luis Resort & Spa, Sud Italia, The Remington at The St. Regis Houston, Topgolf Spring, University of Houston – Alumni Team, University of Houston Dining Services, Walker Street Kitchen at Marriott Marquis, and Westin Houston Downtown.
