Run Houston! Race Series will present the 2nd Annual Run Houston! Race Series kickoff at Sam Houston Race Park. Last year over 8,200 runners attended all five races and this year is pacing to double that attendance.
The Run Houston! Race Series is a five event race series taking place throughout 2016 at various Houston landmarks. Athletes of all skill levels and kids are invited to join the 5k, 10k or kids 1k run at Sam Houston Race Park. The race course will take them around the race park and finish with a sprint right next to the horse track.
Participants will be treated with food from new Houston restaurant Pollo Tropical, music from media sponsor 104.1 KRBE, activities for kids, finisher’s medals and an award ceremony for top finishers.
Runners that can’t make the race will have an opportunity to complete the race virtually by submitting verified records of a completed 5k or 10k run on the day of the event. Virtual racers still get all the great items “on location” runners receive including a custom tech shirt, race bib, finisher’s medal, and credit for completing the race towards a custom Series Finisher medal display.
