Lights in the Heights is one of the best street festivals in Houston during which locals and visitors from around town line up to view and admire the neighbors' holiday handiwork. This year's lights display will run down along Bayland Avenue and Woodland Street.

In an effort to scale back the event that in recent years has felt more like an outdoor bash, no food vendors or activities will be organized on the Norhill Esplanade, though expect to see pedestrians hauling away their own wagons filled with refreshments. If you can score an invite to some of the private parties, you can truly experience the holiday spirit in this charming — and very social — nabe.
