Winner of two 2005 Tony awards, 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee portrays what happens when six junior high overachievers — and audience volunteers — compete for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime in Putnam County, N.Y. The intense competition takes the young contestants and their adult judges on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Before each performance, audience members may sign up in the lobby for a chance to compete in the real-time spelling bee alongside the cast during that performance.
