Watch as the Sugar Plum Fairy flips the switch on the 8,000 lights of the Wortham Theatre Center's 25-foot Christmas tree. Meet characters from Houston Ballet's The Nutcracker and take in live holiday music by local bands and choirs [Houston Girls’ Chorus American Festival for the Arts (AFA) / HGO, Mariachi MECA (Multi-Cultural Education and Counseling through the Arts), Houston Brass Band and Bayou City Chorale]. Food and drinks will also be available, as well as the chance for children to have their picture taken with Santa.
At 12:55 p.m., the Sugar Plum Fairy will lead attendees in a holiday parade to Jones Plaza for festive treats and ticket giveaways from costumed holiday characters in Houston’s Theater District shows.
