The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, raises funds for the local fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivors and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. Funds raised through the annual Race for the Cure stay in the Houston community to fund innovative breast health and breast cancer research, screening, treatment, education and support programs.

The 2013 Race for the Cure route is a USATF 5K course with both running and walking events including a 5K timed competitive run, a 5K timed non-competitive run, a 5K walk and family walk. There will be a Family Walk and Kids K, which is about a 1/2 mile.
