Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is proud to continue its tradition of extolling the work and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the annual MLK Jr. Oratory Competitions held in Dallas and Houston.

This year's final competitions will mark the 25th anniversary in Dallas and 21st in Houston. This year, students will deliver original three-to-five minute speeches answering the question, "If Dr. King were alive today, what would he say about Muhammad Ali’s contribution to society?"

Established in 1993 in Dallas and expanded four years later to Houston, this unique event encourages the development of research, writing and oratory skills of hundreds of Dallas and Houston elementary school children. The students' speeches not only address how Dr. King impacts today's world but also illustrate how his words continue to affect their lives and inspire their perspectives.
